Don’t Worry, Be Parents: Part 1 – Parenting Advice Tips

SaveSavedRemoved 1

As part of a new series we’re running to put parent bloggers in the spotlight, our aim is to help new parents to become more at ease with parenthood through pieces of advice straight from those with experience – Mum’s & Dad’s.

It can be a lonely place at times when being a new or soon-to-be parent and we want parents to speak out and be more comfortable with the adventure that lies ahead. See what some parents have said below.

(Erin @ Mother Of All That Is Perry | @mother_perry)

When asked what her one piece of advice is, Erin said:

“It’s okay to cry in front of your child.

Baby blues will come and sometimes you’ll want to bawl your eyes out. That’s okay. Don’t hide it from your child, it’s a form of communication and teaches them about emotion. You would hate it if your child hid their tears from you.”

Beautifully said, Erin!

We also asked Jaymee what her thoughts would be and she said:

“My piece of advice would be  to take each day as it comes.

Babies don’t come with manuals and both parents and baby are having to adjust. Some days are harder than others, but in the end it will be worth it!”

Again, perfectly put.

Having children is one of the most exciting times of your life so embrace it and enjoy it. We will continue to bring you this parenting advice series and if you’d like to get involved, get in contact with us on how to share your priceless advice.

  1. Gosh wouldn’t it be handy if babies came with manuals!!

  2. Great idea. I’m a mum, have been a nurse and midwife and am now a counsellor. I also write blogs and they tend to explore being a parent. Please feel free to check them all out. Thanks
