5 Beautiful Pieces Of Nursery Furniture That We Love
When it comes to kitting out your new arrival’s nursery, it can be both fun and challenging to find the right furniture. This is where we are here to help!
When thinking of what you need for your baby, there is a lot! It can be difficult to work out what fits your space and which furniture will last, so we have put together a list of our 5 favourite nursery furniture pieces that you could think about adding to your nursery. Within this feature, we will highlight Room Sets, Wardrobes and Changing Units.
Beautiful Nursery Furniture Must-Haves
This Boori Sleigh 3 Piece Room Set in English Oak consists of a cot bed, changing unit and wardrobe and is stunning. The sleigh-style cotbed is always a winner for us and brings a traditional feel to your space.
This Room Set is ideal for your baby right through until they’re around 5 years of age (although this may depend on how quickly they grow) and easily converts to a junior bed. Many people who buy this room set have turned the cot bed into a child sofa when they’ve outgrown it, although this may depend on how much space you have as you’ll also need a bed too.
We’ve got an affinity with the colour grey so this choice might be slightly biased, but it is beautiful. We love wardrobes but can see why many parents decide not to buy a children’s wardrobe and instead opt for a set of drawers that the child can grow up and continue using.
This tall chest of drawers is fitted with 5 individual drawers which are surprisingly deep. They action of these drawers is very smooth and the gliding action is a simple satisfaction we like about it too. These drawers are not only beautiful to look at but they should stand the test of time too – and, did we mention they’re grey?
Talking of wardrobes, Obaby (who also make the chest of drawers above) have also made this Taupe Grey with White wardrobe too, which can match the drawers but also looks fabulous on it’s own too. Crafted using solid wood, it benefits from the same smooth opening and closing design in the rest of the ‘Stamford’ range and loves beautifully sleek and smooth in its design.
We like the blend of open shelving and closed wardrobe spaces though which really adds a focal point to your baby’s nursery.
We’ve chosen another room set within this list and this one from East Coast is much kinder on the budget. Though its cheaper than many other room sets, it is simple in its design yet extremely practical. If you’re thinking more traditional in terms of theme, this is a brilliant addition to your space. The units have a gentle curvature to them which we really love too.
The amount of shelving and drawers space gained on a lower budget makes this 3-piece really stand out and one for the shortlist.
Let’s inject a bit of colour into the lineup. Another colour we love? Pistachio.
Obaby make beautiful nursery furniture and this changing unit is absolutely not different. Using solid wood, very reminiscent of their products, this continues to inherit the characteristics of the ‘Stamford’ range and is well-made, well-designed and looks beautiful in any nursery. It also comes in other colours too, which include Blue, Pink and a Wood version too. The only real drawback for this unit is that it mentions that you should only use it for babies from birth to 11 kg. Other than that, it is a sure-fire winner.
When choosing nursery furniture it is important to really consider the space the furniture will be going into. Buying a room set is clearly the best way to purchase matching furniture but this can often be costly. If your space is limited then looking to buy a wardrobe, chest of drawers or a changing unit might be your best port of call.
